A Haunter

Did you ever feel like a ghost?
Did you ever wonder if you died that one time?
     Or maybe that other?
Do you think sometimes you're dead?
To this world anyhow.
Otherwise life's pretty darn good
Just a'hauntin' around
Just chillin', making things creak once in a while
Rattling this or jingling that
     Fulfilling obligations
Rocking that chair down the hall
Looking out the window at night
A sheet with an eye peering into a hole
You're not tangible, ectoplasm
But it's this world so it's of no matter
Because it has nothing for you
You only know how to give
You're a ghost
Did you ever walk into a room and forget why you're there?
Stay.
Write a poem or a song until you remember.
