Inktober: “Onion”

“Why are you crying?”
“I’m not. Well, I am, but only because I was laughing so hard.”
“What’s so funny?”
“Sometimes an onion is just an onion & maybe I think too much.”
“You know what they say, ‘If life hands you a bowl of onions…’”
“No! That’s lemons. And it’s not a bowl of onions. It’s just onion, singular. Not even enough to make French onion soup.”
“Then sometimes an onion is just an onion.”
“That’s what I was sayin’.”
“Sometimes it’s a good excuse to shed some tears.”
“Hmm, an alibi to cover a good cry?”
“Perhaps. Every onion is an opportunity.”
“Indeed, to practice shading and consistency and minding your light source.”
“Hey, did you ever take a bite out of an onion like an apple?”
“Yup.”
“Have you ever had a Gibson?”
“Nope. Sounds harsh.”
“I suppose it depends on the gin.”
“Still, yuck. Gin, vermouth, & onions.”
“But they’re pickled cocktail onions on a stick.”
“Look, just let me draw my Vidalia so I can get on with my month.”
