Bananas, Nutjobbers & Corduroy Bellbottoms

Hey Keith,
I haven’t figure out the bass part yet, workin’ on it now while the moon is waning and the sky smiles on me, but this here may be another song for the Phlatscreen Filosopher album! It may slide right in there between “Made In The U.S.A.(tm)” and “It’s Only Duct Tape & Spit.” Check it out and please let me know if you have any recommendations on time signature.

Bananas, Nutjobbers & Corduroy Bellbottoms

Every style comes back around

Fascism is back in town this season!

Just like the wisest prophets and Grandma always said

It would be
Here before any of the other -isms

After the fall of
consumer and capital

Letters and notes, though,

Never go out of style.

Here’s another Grandma-ism:

Keep careful note, pages if you have to,

Of how many licks it takes

To get back to the center

And mind your lollipop wrappers

And hold on to what and who matter most

Platforms and bell-bottoms in corduroy

Coming this fall say the trusty old marketing catalogs

Don’t anyone read any more?

This fall.

It’ll be here before you know it.

Some of the squirrels and sparrows have gathered

Plenty enough nuts for the winter

Maybe this squirrel will make like a monkey

And enjoy the summer

In the sun drenched evergreen treetops

Remembering how to properly peel a banana

Did you know there’s more than one way?

We were taught, we remember.

We were taught all wrong, we are now told

By a bull worm in a rotten apple

Every style comes back around
