Moody Fall Colors

Tiberius bit me in the face this morning. It was one of his Leo love bites. It’s only a 3/4-inch long gash this time and it stopped bleeding before lunch. He’s been a really good boy but he’ll always be excitable. I have to shave for the wedding tomorrow anyhow and I can do worse. It’s formal dress code so I’m using a straight razor. “Moody Fall Colors” are Bridezilla’s orders. After a lot of dress-stress Lilly found just the right gown but with less than a day to go her shoes are still up in the air. I got a new suit I’m wearing with some old shoes, which I still have to shine. This attire screams Autumn. I considered rockin’ a cane but my favorite formal cane is a studded rod of Willow and looks more like a switch. And it has a brass tip. On second thought maybe I’ll pack it. It may sound good on the dance floor. Tiberius is looking a bit suspicious since my suitcase is out again. I just finished unpacking from August. He knows. Perhaps that’s what this morning’s love bite was about. I don’t think we can get my head in his mouth, though he keeps trying, but we can certainly train to do other tricks so I asked Santa for a 1/4-scale chair and a 1/4 scale whip in his letter this year, with the promise of warm cookies. I’ve been working on Tiberius’s gift. It’s a little Big Top. I had the 1/4 pound sledge hammer out for the first time in years yesterday testing to see if the 1/4-scale stakes were drivable and if they had enough purchase to hold the roof down should Tiberius roar, in 1/4-scale of course, but still, that cat’s ferocious. I have a tear welling on my cheek. I suppose the cut will look good with this suit, like the shoes, rugged. Well, I’m grateful it wasn’t Wynn or Bruce. Wynnie’s the Black Widow that got away in the lumber pile the other day and Bruce is the Brown Recluse that outfoxed both Tiberius and me last week (I’m 14-0-2 this season, so far). Tiberius pulled him down from the front door trim and had him on the run across the wide-open hardwood. Then we cornered him. We thought. But Bruce, like a bullet, vanished under the coat closet door. Tiberius sat in front of the closet with pointed ears and blinked. I’m also astonished at how fast Bruce was. Now I’m afraid of all my pockets and sleeves.
